WTCC is happy to announce the launch of a new Japanese-language website (www.fiawtcc.jp) designed to provide an important "in language" information portal for the expanding community of WTCC's Japanese fans, media and partners.
Like the official English-language FIA WTCC website, www.fiawtcc.jp offers the Japanese public the opportunity to learn about the series and its history, about drivers and manufacturers, and to follow the entire championship as its moves closer to the Race of Japan, scheduled in November.
"We are very pleased to launch the first phase of this new website with all the championship's latest news translated into Japanese. This new site offers us more direct, interactive communication with our fans in Japan," said Marcello Lotti, KSO Managing Director. "It also allows us to share our championship's international expansion as one of the most spectacular and fastest growing motorsports series worldwide."
The first appearance of the FIA World Touring Car Championship in Japan last year turned out to a great success with an attendance of 28,000 spectators (in spite of winterlike weather) and with two breathtaking races with plenty of overtaking and tangles.
The WTCC will visit the Okayama circuit again this year for the 11th meeting of the season on November 1st, while Japanese fans can follow the whole 2009 season live on Gaora Sports Channel.
Visit the new WTCC Japanese-language website at www.fiawtcc.jp and read the interview with Akinori Tokieda, Yokohama's General Motorsports Manager.
